At ReUnite America USA, our story began not in a boardroom, but in the broken streets of New Orleans—just days after Hurricane Katrina made landfall in 2005. It was a time when despair blanketed the Gulf Coast, and help felt a world away. But instead of watching from a distance, we rolled up our sleeves. Alongside eleven courageous humanitarians, we transported over 90 tons of vital supplies to Houston to support families who had lost everything. That mission gave birth to something greater than a response—it gave rise to a movement rooted in compassion, unity, and the relentless belief that no one should face disaster alone.
ReUnite America USA has consistently been at the forefront of crisis response since its inception, acting as a vital link between tragedy and recovery. Over the years, we have broadened our outreach and fortified our collaborations to address the increasing demands for assistance both domestically and internationally. In the aftermath of Hurricanes Rita and Ida, we provided not only essential food and shelter to displaced families but also the emotional support necessary for them to rebuild their lives. Our commitment extended globally following the devastating tsunami near Sumatra, where we partnered with reputable organizations such as UNICEF and the Salvation Army, as well as local businesses like Darrow’s New Orleans Grill, to deliver much-needed resources and aid to often-overlooked communities.
More recently, our attention has focused on Southern California, where devastating wildfires ravaged communities, leaving behind charred homes and broken lives. In a remarkable act of collaboration, we partnered with CBS Television and Clyde Staffing Ventures to convert a soundstage into a sanctuary for healing. Families were welcomed with food, essential supplies, mental health services, and uplifting moments, such as children playing and women enjoying makeovers, while survivors received vital emotional support. Chef Tim Kilcoyne, formerly with World Central Kitchen, along with various local restaurants, provided comforting meals, highlighting that true nourishment extends beyond food to include the bonds of community.
