When Hurricane Ida tore through Saint John the Baptist Parish and the surrounding communities, it left behind more than twisted rooftops and flooded streets—it left families clinging to the pieces of their lives, unsure of where to begin again.
But in the midst of heartbreak, ReUnite America USA showed up—boots on the ground, hearts wide open.

Volunteers traveled from Southern California, joining hands with local humanitarians who know firsthand what resilience looks like. Together, we rolled up our sleeves—not just to clear debris, but to restore dignity and hope.
One home, ravaged by Ida’s winds, had its entire electrical system destroyed. We were able to completely rewire it, making it safe and livable again. Another family watched helplessly as water poured in after a massive portion of their roof was ripped away. Their walls, their floors, their memories—saturated. But thanks to tireless volunteers and generous support, we gave them more than repairs. We gave them a fresh start. The entire interior was redone, room by room, until it no longer looked like a storm had ever touched it.
These weren’t just construction projects. They were acts of love.
To see a child smile again in their own bedroom, to hear a mother say “we can breathe now”—that is what this mission is about.

ReUnite America USA didn’t just bring supplies. We brought comfort, community, and the reminder that no one is forgotten.
This is the power of showing up. This is what rebuilding hope looks like.
And we’re just getting started.
